New Australian International Motor Show website launched by carsguide.com.au
Celebrating the launch of the 2008 motor show website, 100 tickets are up for grabs in an online giveaway. Details available on carsguide.com.au or australianmotorshow.com.au.
As the online provider for the motor show in Darling Harbour from 9 to 19 October 2008, carsguide.com.au has built the new website using the latest technology.
New features include a multimedia carousel, live webcasts of car unveilings and video highlights of the day’s events.
The carousel enables users to select story elements on rollover: text content, associated photo gallery and/or video.
Another unique feature of the site is the increased photo content. A custom built photo gallery offers the option to manually select photos, or watch a slide show in three speeds. This maximises the user experience, especially for those that can’t make it to the show, while minimising bandwidth.
The website will be updated multiple times per day throughout the 10 day event revealing the latest car reviews, news, photos and videos.
Last year’s motor show site attracted almost 180,000 unique browsers during September and October.
Tickets can be purchased on the website along with tips on how to get to the show, advice about the venue, nearby eateries and attractions, and detailed information about the show’s events.
Carsguide.com.au general manager, Gloria Poulakis, said that other than the motor show itself, “this is the best place to experience the latest developments in the motor industry”.
Ms Poulakis said the site will reinforce carsguide.com.au’s position in the market as “the place that has more expert opinions than any other and all you need to know about the motor industry”.
