News Digital Media and 3 Launch Star Mandarin Mobile

Australia’s first Chinese speaking mobile TV service

News Digital Media and 3 mobile today announced the launch of Australia’s first Chinese language mobile TV service, STAR Mandarin Mobile.

STAR is Asia's leading media and entertainment company, serving more than 300 million viewers across 53 Asian countries.

Broadcasting primarily in Mandarin and other Asian languages, STAR is owned by News Corporation which also owns News Digital Media.

STAR Mandarin mobile is available to 3 mobile consumers for as little as $1 a day or $4 a month. The service features three of STAR’s top rating Mandarin television shows

•  Blackie’s Teenage Club – Channel [V] Taiwan’s highest rating program about Blackie, a head teacher who leads 20 ‘Mei Mei’ (girls) in their quest to become professional entertainers.
• Gossip Queen – Hosted by Regine, Gossip Queen is one of Taiwan’s highest rating talk shows.
• The Cave – The Chinese answer to ‘Fear Factor’ is an elimination game show where contestants endure various physical and intellectual challenges.

More top rated Mandarin television shows will continue to be added to the lineup of programs.
