News Digital Media announced as content provider for new Motorola service
Motorola and Optus launch live 3G newsfeed direct to your mobile
Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a global leader in wireless communications, in partnership with Optus, announced today the launch of SCREEN3TM, a content service available on all MOTORAZR2 V9 and MOTOKRZR1 handsets through Optus.
SCREEN3TM is a powerful new feature that delivers news, sports, entertainment and other premium content and services directly to consumers via their mobile device – anytime - with 'no buttons to push,no browsers to launch.'
News, weather, financial information, music and entertainment are all delivered faster and easier than ever before, simply scrolling continually across the bottom of the home screen, with the option to access content in more detail when desired.
Optus is the first carrier in Australia to offer SCREEN3™, joining a growing list of leading mobile carriers around the world offering the service. SCREEN3™ is available on MOTORAZR2 V9 and MOTOKRZR K1 handsets, now in store at Optus2.
“This new service from Motorola will provide our 3G customers with another convenient way to receive information on their handsets,” said Michael Smith, Group Marketing Director, Optus Consumer. Content providers such as News Digital Media are equally enthusiastic.
”The SCREEN3™ solution is a great way to keep Australians informed. Services such as news direct from NEWS.com.au, entertainment updates and travel, and weather forecasts will be accessible 24 hours a day” said Sue Klose, Director Corporate Development, News Digital Media.
Content is best when fresh, so SCREEN3TM enlists a “smart synchronisation” function, meaning that only the latest, freshest content gets delivered and displayed on the device’s home screen. “SCREEN3™ is another reason why you will never leave home without your Motorola phone.
Motorola’s SCREEN3™ solution is designed to delight consumers with how easy it can be to receive the news and information they want on their mobile phones” said Andrew Volard, Managing Director, Motorola South Pacific.
“By placing relevant, targeted content right on the home screen, SCREEN3™ not only makes it accessible, it makes mobile content irresistible” added Mr Volard. Motorola continues its leadership in 3G and vision of media mobility by working closely with Optus and News Digital Media in Australia to deliver SCREEN3™ users with nine different channels of cool information, including:
- ARIA Music – ARIA Charts Top 10, Motorola Artist of the Month, Artist Of The Month exclusive mobile content, music industry news
