News Digital Media’s chief executive officer, Richard Freudenstein, today announced the appointment of Nicole Allingham as the company’s human resources director.
Ms Allingham, former human resources manager of The Gold Coast Bulletin, started in her new role this week and will report to the company’s chief operating officer Nick Leeder.
Ms Allingham will be responsible for human resources practices across the News Digital Media group which employs over 550 people.
Mr Freudenstein said “Although there has been an easing of the skills shortage in recent months, the online industry remains a highly competitive marketplace.
Nicole will ensure that, as News Digital Media continues to grow and invest in its staff, we attract and retain the best people in the business.”
Ms Allingham began her HR career in 1998, at the Radisson Resort, a five star resort on the Gold Coast.
After five years at the resort, having been promoted to resort duty manager, she left to join Warner Bros. Movie World and Sea World.
In 2005 she was appointed BP Australia’s HR Advisor for Queensland and in December 2007 joined the News Limited team at Gold Coast Publications.
After three years with News Digital Media, group human resources manager Shane Bradshaw has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests when his contract expires later this month.
Mr Freudenstein paid tribute to Mr Bradshaw saying “I would like thank Shane for the hard work he has done in building our HR team and supporting our businesses through a period in which our headcount has almost tripled.
“Shane has deftly navigated the myriad of HR issues that arise in a rapidly growing company, and has played a key role in developing and establishing our culture and values.
“He has been intimately involved in the many organisational changes across the business and overseen the development and embedding of many essential HR practices and processes the business now relies on.
“We wish Shane every success in the future.”
