SportingPulse Breaks Its Australasian Traffic Record

Australia’s largest community sporting network, SportingPulse achieved a record traffic month in May 2010.

According to Nielsen Online for May 2010, the SportingPulse network delivered 1,833,040 unique browsers. Since 2007, SportingPulse’s annual traffic has grown at 30 per cent year-on-year.

The SportingPulse network includes sports advice site gameday.com.au, over 30,000 community sports clubs and association sites in Australia and another 5,000 internationally.

General manager – sales & marketing, Chris Oliver, said that he was delighted that the network’s popularity continues to grow.

”Our annual growth has been phenomenal and May’s figures are outstanding. It is testament to the power of local sport and its importance in our every day lives. “We’ve seen a number of leagues and associations join the SportingPulse network over the last few months.

“With the recent addition of all Tasmanian AFL leagues we have very close to 100 per cent penetration in AFL nationally. New associations such as Motorcycling Australia are also delivering new niches and parochial audiences to our advertisers.

“We are continually providing great technical resources to sport and delivering a vibrant and engaged audience to our corporate partners including Optus, Defence Force Recruitment, Swisse Vitamins and various Government agencies.”

SportingPulse returns 50 per cent of their net profits from partners and advertisers to the local sporting community. “With this model and growing corporate investment, we see a bright future for community sport and SportingPulse.”

In 2009, News Digital Media invested a stake into the company and became responsible for display advertising sales across the network.
