TrueLocal Lauches Virtual Maps with New Google Street View

Google Street View images are now available on TrueLocal. The online search directory has become the first search directory to adopt the Google Street View technology and one of the first websites to do so in Australia.

Available on every TrueLocal business detail page that displays an actual street address, the new virtual mapping technology operates in conjunction with Google Maps and uses photographic imagery to demonstrate a business location. Users can now familiarise themselves with a particular destination, which is helpful when street numbers are not clearly visible, or if a user is in an unfamiliar area. With photographic images, users can now literally see where they are going.

Google Street View was launched in Australia by Google on 5 August 2008 and contains images of large numbers of public streets and intersections all across Australia. The technology is ideal for pinpointing businesses and shopfronts. Users can change their view by panning, rotating and zooming in on specific areas, and can even take a virtual walk. Street names are displayed and users can navigate from one street to another.

The TrueLocal website has recently undergone a complete overhaul and has embraced interactive tools and high tech capabilities to enhance the site’s experience. The site contains complete business profiles including photos, videos, maps, detailed descriptions of products and services, as well as independent customer reviews.
